Time to mark your calendars for this family-friendly favorite! The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association (HDLGBA) invites you to our first event of the new year.

12pm-4pm

Enjoy a variety of FREE hot cocoa samples at tents located throughout town. See map below for tent locations. Participating merchants will be offering cocoa-inspired creations, cocoa and cocoa-themed merchandise, free samples and more for event attendees. Many of our restaurants and beverage establishments will also have cocoa-themed food and drinks for sale.

Spend $100 (before tax/tip) at any store or restaurant on February 10, 2024 and receive a FREE Long Grove mug—a new color this year for your collection! Bring your receipts to the Visitors Center to claim your mug (while supplies last).

FREE Carriage Rides

Grab your group and hop on the carriage for a ride around town. Registration not required. First-come, first-served. Waivers must be completed on site. Rides are complimentary and courtesy of the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association.

We’re excited to welcome Fox Crossing Stringband to the Long Grove Craft Beer Fest! This lady-led bluegrass group from Chicago has been winning hearts with their beautiful harmonies, original songwriting, and entertaining stage presence since forming in November of 2016. They have performed at events such as IBMA award-winning Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, the John Hartford Memorial Festival, East Troy Bluegrass Festival, Ladies of Bluegrass Festival, the Illinois State Fair, Wander Down Music Fest, Merchant Street Music Festival, American Music Fest, and many more!

They have also performed on the WGN Radio and WGN TV Shows, and at notable venues in Chicago such as City Winery, The Park West, and Navy Pier. These Foxes are on the run and coming to a town near you!

Chocolate Lovers Unite!

The Long Grove Chocolate Festival will return to the historic streets and parkways of downtown Long Grove, on May 17, 18, and 19, 2024. Organizers of this season’s Chocolate Fest are working to provide an amazing three days of live music, family activities, chocolate vendors, and chocolate experiences!

All proceeds from ticket purchases benefit Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest.

The suburb’s biggest homage to scarecrow-making returns again to Historic Downtown Long Grove. Do It Yourself Scarecrow Day is an afternoon dedicated to harvesting charm and family fun.  Scarecrow engineers are invited to reserve a time to build their own custom scarecrow modeled after any character or idea they can create.  We encourage participants to plan ahead, gather clothing and accessories and register in advance.
