Historic downtown Long Grove invites holiday shoppers to rediscover the magic of the holiday season. The annual Long Grove Vintage Holidays campaign is a tribute to the classic small town holiday market experience – quaint shops, old-world charms, and family memories. Organized by the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association, Vintage Holidays 2022 will feature:
Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides: beginning November 19th and continuing every weekend through
December 18th, groups of family and friends can get into the vintage holiday spirit with vintage carriage rides throughout a decked-out historic downtown Long Grove. From the twinkling Covered Bridge to all the lit-up Christmas trees and storefronts, passengers are invited to sit back and take it all in. Pre-registration through LongGrove.org is highly encouraged in order to reserve a spot. Walk-ins are welcome, cash only, on a first come first serve basis.
Merchant Open Houses and Promos: merchants throughout the historic downtown Long Grove
marketplace will feature decorations, sales, and specials on merchandise, food, drinks, and
more throughout the Vintage Holidays campaign. Beginning November 25th and running
through December 18th, anyone who spends $150 before tax/tip at any of the downtown
merchants will receive a free gift from the Long Grove Visitors Center (maximum of four gifts
per person, receipts must date between 11/25 – 12/18. While supplies last).
Holiday Caroling and Santa: visitors who stroll historic downtown Long Grove marketplace
during Vintage Holidays will not only enjoy the sights but the sounds of the holiday season too,
with vintage costumed holiday carolers setting the tone. Additionally, on select weekends
November 25th through December 18th, visits by Santa Claus himself will put holiday
smiles on all kids at heart.
Stroll Around Town: from 6 pm to 8pm on November 18th, visitors to historic downtown Long Grove will enjoy a preview of the holiday sparkle, festive decor, and small town magic. Stores will be open late so guests can take their time shopping, sipping, and dining! Before the big crowds, and the hectic pace of the holidays takes hold, Long Grove is the place for a touch of the authentic Christmas spirit.
